The North is a bit of a mystical place for most of us more southern Canadians, but they take good care of their family doctors! Most Canadian family physicians think of the North as a place to locum (which can also be awesome), but drilling down into the pay structures for places like the Yukon were eye opening and full of possibilities!

Coming in second overall, the Yukon rocks! They offer a straight forward, well renumerated fee-for-service structure with additional chronic disease management funds. Most interesting, their approach is to pay a large lump sum towards overhead reimbursement to incentive family doctors to work there (enough to likely actually cover the majority of the overhead to run a streamlined family medical clinic). Their perks are average, and this combined gives them that #2 spot. If they want to try to grab the top spot, they should look at sweetening the perks that your family doctors get.
